Rudo Surebrec[6] ( ルド・シュアブレック, Rudo Shuaburekku) is the main protagonist of the Gachiakuta manga and animeseries. He’s a member of the Cleaners as a part of Team Akuta."Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not going to my death. He got here by trampling on things that people care about. And he's gonna keep doing it. So I'm gonna kick that turdface's ass, that's all."
— Rudo Surebrec, Chapter 157
He originally lived on the Sphereas a Sphereite among the Tribe folk but was thrown into the Pitafter being falsely accused of the murder of his foster father Regto, who was actually killed by the Angel.[7] He's later recruited by Enjin to join the Cleaners[8] as a member of Team Akuta[9] until he collects every single piece of the Watchman Series, which will allow him to return to the Sphere to enact his revenge.[10]
Appearance
Rudo is a teenager with a thin and scrawny figure. His hair is spiky and natural white with black tips, and large, almond-shaped red eyes with a thin black ring around the pupil and eye bags underneath, which are framed by short and cropped eyebrows with black eyelashes. Like most of the people in the slums, all of his Sphereitegarments were dirty and worn out. His clothing consisted of loose, beige vest with a square neck hood and vertical stripe patterns with light brown shide-like patterns running down the middle; he wears loose pants that are also beige and over it fastens a band of thick golden fabric shaped like the number six around the lower shins over light brown boots. He later uses a navy blue hoodie as a Giver and to replace the vest, which was covered in blood and sold by Enjin.
Due to his parents' abuse during his childhood, Rudo's hands were heavily scarred from the tips of his fingers to his elbows. Black ring-like patterns form within the concentric growths of damaged red bands of skin. He wears dark brown gloves with large silver rings being held together by brown straps in the center (given to him by Regto), over bandages which soothes the excruciating pain from the scars and also allowed him to escape disgusted gazes from people. He seems to take them off only when his hands are being tended by Regto or when he has to wash them.[6]
After formally joining the Cleaners, Rudo is shown to wear a personalized version of their uniform like all the Givers in the organization. His new attire consists of a beige, sleeveless zip-up with a large hood and equally large silver buttons on its mantle, with a yellow bracelet featuring the Cleaners' logo stamped on its right chest area and on its backside. Underneath, Rudo wears a black, long-sleeved top. His uniform also consists of baggy cream-colored cargo shorts held up by a black belt along with two knapsacks fastened on his waist, one containing his Full Face Mask, while the other contains trash Rudo can use as ammunition for future battles. His footwear consists of buckled black sneakers with thick soles over red socks. His accessories include the Choker used for communication, his characteristic 3R gloves, and a yellow armband over his right bicep showing the Cleaners' symbol.
Rudo's Doll Festival outfit is comprised of vibrant, multi-colored fabric. He wears a large teal jacket with red cloths, with the red being the stitched upon teal the jacket and it is adorned with patterns all over it. The jacket also features yellow buttons and a hood topped with fluff. Underneath, he wears a red shirt. His pants are baggy and beige, and his boots are likely designed after the gloves, as they are also dark gray and brown, with the soles being a bright red. The area of the boots meant to cover his toes have metal spikes melted on to them, three spikes for each boot. And to literally top it all off, he wears a cap inspired by the head of a wolf, extinct creatures on the Ground. The cap is thick and brown, with very sharp and pointy ears, and the eyes are red with yellow around them. Rudo's face when wearing this costume is covered with red paint likely meant to represent scars one can get from being scratched by an animal with sharp claws.
His Full Face Mask appears to be a red luchador-like style with yellow lighting-style drawings as eyebrows. The eyeholes are jaggedly rimmed, and the nose and bottom being of a gas mask with silver spikes around the filter.
On the Volume 11 cover, Rudo is depicted wearing an altered version of his Cleaner uniform. The outfit is white and red inside featuring a hood much larger and the buttons that were originally there are absent. He has red sleeves instead of black, the zip is a different shape and he now wears white boots with laces.
In his "Pseudo-God" form, Rudo appears to be a lanky werewolf-like creature (matching his personality and Doll Festival outfit) with a elongated snout, hunchbacked body and fuzzy light-colored fur with black face markings that cover half of its face at the point of shadowing its eyes.
